It looks like 7.0.28 just sits there and does nothing as well. :/
Same error message too.
None of the version 7s seem to be able to connect to client and start doing stuff anymore. Version 6 fires right up, but doesn't seem to do GPU computing when it's enabled.

I hope this gets fixed soon. I'm willing to lend a crapload of GPU compute to BOINCing, but the software seemed to be borked, so I'm unable to do so :(

If there's any additional information I could provide that would be helpful to preventing further issues with BOINC 7 / getting rid of bugs, please let me know. I'm bummed that I can't get BOINC 7 to run or even allow the project and account manager window be opened.

I can give it a try, if it's relatively stable. It looks like version 6 can't do GPU computing :(

Did you try Boinc 7.0.28?

Though going back to version 6 seemed to fix my problem. Bummer that version 7 is so buggy :(

I tried the regedit thing, and it's not fixed my issue. Fresh install of Win7 Professional, 64 bit. I was able to get BOINC to run a handful of times, but generally only with effort after I enabled GPU computing. Now I get a window regularly popping up saying (with "X" being a number)

BOINC Manager - Unexpected Exit

The BOINC client has exited unexpectedly 3 times within the last X minutes. Would you like to restart it again?

[Yes] [No] [Help]

I tried a repair of the install. I tried an uninstall and reinstall. I checked the thing in the registry that was mentioned. No go.

This is my first time doing the GPU compute (with my two shiny new Geforce 670 GTX cards... it tears through SETI@home), and also the first time I've had so many issues getting BOINC to run.

I've also tried setting BOINC manager to administrator before running it. I keep getting that window every time now.

After reinstalling, I can't add project or attach to a manager. No pop up window when I try to do either. It just says it's trying to find a localhost down in the bottom right hand corner.

I haz nice system to lend to science... but no BOINC to workz wif T-T
